Bring carnival fun to your classroom with this themed Tic Tac Toe game! Children can practise vocabulary and engage in friendly competition as they aim to be the first to connect three in a row.
Target language: mask, costume, parade, party hat, music, dancing, face painting, float, balloons.
Instructions: in pairs, prepare the game by cutting out the tiles from the bottom of the page and deciding who is going to use the ‘O’s and who is going to use the ‘X’s. To play the game the children take it in turns to place one of their tiles on the grid, saying the word or a sentence as they put it down. The aim of the game is to get three tiles in a row, this could be horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
You will need: one worksheet per pair and scissors.
