This past simple snap game is a fun way for children to practise irregular verbs in the past tense. The set includes 48 cards featuring 24 common verbs. Children play in pairs: they cut out the cards, shuffle them and deal them out. With their piles facing down, they flip over one card at the same time. If the two cards match (for example go and went), the first player to shout “SNAP!” wins the pile. The game continues until one player collects all the cards. This game is engaging and fast-paced. It encourages verb recognition, recall and it’s a fun and playful way to practise grammar.
