Circle & Say is a simple and fun speaking activity that helps young learners practise talking about what they can do in English.

Target language: cook, speak other languages, swim, ride a bike, play tennis, tell the time in English, skip, paint a picture, count to 100 in English, ride a horse, play a musical instrument, say the months of the year in English, dance, climb, play football, run really fast, drive a car, describe what you’re wearing in English, ski, say ten types of food in English, touch your toes, say the alphabet in English.

Instructions: children circle the images of the things they can do and then share that information with a partner. This activity is great for practising simple sentences and can be adapted for higher levels with additional questions and language suggestions. It encourages children to talk about doing simple tasks in English and improve their speaking skills in a fun, engaging way.
