As you might already know, our mission is to make language learning more fun! Games are a wonderful way to learn and practise vocabulary in a stress-free, fun environment.

With that in mind, we are introducing you to an exciting question card game, designed specifically for young learners. This game offers a fantastic opportunity to practise vocabulary, sentence formation and rapid-fire question answering.

Question Cards Online Game

How To Play

Begin by selecting a topic from the dropdown menu. The game offers six topics to choose from, including animals, town, home, jobs, food and clothes. This allows for customisation based on the students’ interests and the learning objectives.

Before starting the game, take a moment to review a few key words and phrases that will be useful throughout the game. Remind your students of simple grammar structures and ask them to answer the questions in full sentences as much as possible.

This game can be played in a few different ways.

Rapid Fire Questions:

This game can be played in a rapid-fire question format. One student sits in the “hot seat,” and other students or the teacher keep score of the points.

The students take turns sitting in the “hot seat” while others ask them rapid-fire questions related to the chosen topic.

The player in the “hot seat” answers as many questions as possible within a given time limit (e.g., one minute).

Each correct answer earns the player a point, and the scorekeeper keeps track of the points.

Rotating Roles:

Ensure that each student gets a chance to be in the “hot seat” or select a question card, promoting equal participation and engagement among all learners.

This rotation of roles allows every student to practise both answering and asking questions, contributing to a well-rounded language learning experience.

Scoring and Feedback:

Keep track of the points earned by each player during the rapid-fire question round.

At the end of the game, provide constructive feedback and acknowledge the efforts of all participants.

Relaxed Speaking Activity:

Alternatively, the game can be played as a more relaxed speaking activity, allowing students to practise vocabulary and form full sentences.

Students take turns to answer the questions related to their chosen topic. The student reads the question aloud and answers it, forming a complete sentence. Encourage students to provide detailed and descriptive answers to enhance their language skills.

Emphasise the importance of forming full sentences, using appropriate vocabulary and maintaining fluency during the speaking activity.
