Target language: seal, walrus, Arctic fox, killer whale, polar bear, penguin, spell, sing, say, write, backwards
Instructions: in pairs or small groups the children take it in turns to roll the dice. After rolling dice the child moves their counter forward the number of spaces shown on the dice. If they roll a 2 and land on an image of , they have to spell ‘S-E-A-L’, if they roll a 4 and land on an image of a walrus, they have to spell six backwards ‘S-U-R-L-A-W’, if the roll a 6 and land on an image of a penguin, they have to say one 10 times ‘PENGUIN- PENGUIN- PENGUIN- PENGUIN- PENGUIN- PENGUIN- PENGUIN- PENGUIN- PENGUIN- PENGUIN’ and so on.
You will need: one worksheet and one dice per pair or small group and one counter per child.
